When I took my last kite trip to Baja, a couple of good friends of mine introduced me to Settlers of Catan, a very cool board game. It has now become the point of bonding for my brothers and I. This one was particularly fun as we added in the Seafarers Expansion and did some neat stuff with unexplored territories. I am such a dork at heart. I love it. Oh, and I won!

Simply put, this is my new all-time favorite music site. Its premise is simple, every friday, it gives you a new mixtape. You know, like back in the old days when you would combine all your favorite tracks onto a cassette tape to share with your new crush? The music on the MixTapes (there are currently 44 in all) is spontaneous, it flows, and man, it just keeps making me smile, and smile, and stop, breakdown, and just dance. And they have very very cool graphics, and occasionally dancing avatars with really sweet moves. I’m a busy girl whose youth was music and pop-culturally deprived, so thank you, Friday MixTape, for teaching me so much, and really just making my music enjoyment so simple, and damn, so so good!

So far my favorite is mixtape 22. What’s yours?

Steller sunset surf session at Ocean Beach yesterday. Super nice waves, and they were my size, about 4-6 feet. Truly epic.

The Mariquita Farm Mystery Box

I got my first Mariquita Farm Mystery Box last week, and talk about value! For $25 I got a 5 lb bag of mixed peppers, potatoes, carrots, chard, rosemary, broccolini, radishes, sweet onions and fresh cayenne peppers! It is all local, organic, and sustainable food and a fantastic perk of living in San Francisco.

I shared this food with great friends and we had an epic feast of roast vegtables and chicken, pairing it with a Rose, then did a little comparison of Grenache from California versus French Riviera. California won!

Mariquita Farm is a small family farm located near Watsonville, CA. They grow organic specialty vegetables, greens and herbs for their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members in Santa Cruz County, Silicon Valley, Monterey, the Peninsula, and San Francisco and for many Restaurants in San Francisco.

Robot Heart Halloween, NYC, NY

Went to NYC for Halloween and partied with the Robot Heart Crew. George and Kim know how to throw an epic party, and I took a few pictures before the 3 bus adventure around Manhatten and Brooklyn. What a night!

For the last 2 years, I have attended the Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert. A city of 40,000 people that is built in a week, Burning Man reaffirmed my faith in humanity through its epic stories of creativity, genius, and passion.
