Powder Weekend!

First turns of the season were at Squaw Valley. It’s the biggest November the mountain has ever seen, we found untouched powder all day.   Needless to say, we simply couldn’t stop smiling.

This will be my 2nd year with a season pass at Squaw Valley where I also am part of a ski lease. My favorite turns at Squaw are often found on Red Dog Ridge where you can find clean lines and just blast through the trees. I’m already giddy to get back up there (hopefully this weekend).

Kiteboarding: The New Golf.

I’m featured in a Forbes.com article, Kiteboarding: The New Golf.

Susan Coelius Keplinger
Founder/ COO, Triggit
After playing Division 1 soccer in college, Susan was hungry for a new extreme sport and a new obsession. A fanatical skier during the winter months, San Francisco brought Susan to the wind and waves during the summers. “The first time I held a kite I was stunned, awed, and totally hooked on the power of wind and waves,” says Keplinger. “I’ve now kited all over the world and have met the most fantastic people, crazed entrepreneurs and now best friends and business partners, at the beach.”

My Birthday Campout at Kirby Cove

Kirby Cove

For my 29th birthday my friends and I celebrated me by camping out at Kirby Cove.  The day was spectacular and the night even better.    Kirby Cove reminds me why San Francisco is such a gem.   Located almost directly below the Golden Gate Bridge, you can literally walk or bike (my friends did!) to the sie from the city.     Its an escape from the concrete jungle, the hustle and bustle, the maddness.   And its so close.    Reserving Kirby is a challenge within itself, but if you can pull it off, so so worth it.   Or, just come to my 4th annual Kirby Cove party next year.   Did somebody say Silent Disco and the Duck Boat?

fridaymixtape.com

fridaymixtapes

Simply put, this is my new all-time favorite music site.   Its premise is simple, every friday, it gives you a new mixtape.   You know, like back in the old days when you would combine all your favorite tracks onto a cassette tape to share with your new crush?    The music on the MixTapes (there are currently 44 in all) is spontaneous, it flows, and man, it just keeps making me smile, and smile, and stop, breakdown, and just dance.    And they have very very cool graphics, and occasionally dancing avatars with really sweet moves.    I’m a busy girl whose youth was music and pop-culturally deprived, so thank you, Friday MixTape, for teaching me so much, and really just making my music enjoyment so simple, and damn, so so good!

So far my favorite is mixtape 22.   What’s yours?

The Mariquita Farm Mystery Box

Local, Organic, Affordable!I got my first Mariquita Farm Mystery Box last week, and talk about value! For $25 I got a 5 lb bag of mixed peppers, potatoes, carrots, chard, rosemary, broccolini, radishes, sweet onions and fresh cayenne peppers! It is all local, organic, and sustainable food and a fantastic perk of living in San Francisco.

The Mystery Bag!

I shared this food with great friends and we had an epic feast of roast vegtables and chicken, pairing it with a Rose, then did a little comparison of Grenache from California versus French Riviera.   California won!

Mariquita Farm is a small family farm located near Watsonville, CA. They grow organic specialty vegetables, greens and herbs for their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members in Santa Cruz County, Silicon Valley, Monterey, the Peninsula, and San Francisco and for many Restaurants in San Francisco.
